WAY undertook the design, production, and organization of the event held by the Ministry of Health on Thursday, December 5, 2024, aimed at presenting the “OIKOTHEN” program. This innovative service ensures the provision of at-home treatments and nursing care for oncology patients.
The event, held at the Athens Concert Hall, featured the following participants: the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, the Deputy Minister of Health, Irini Agapidaki, the Deputy Ministers of Health Marios Themistokleous and Dimitris Vartzopoulos, the Director of the 1st Health Region of Attica, Olga Balaoura, the Responsible Physician, MD, MSc, PhD, and Vice President of the Hellenic Oncology Physicians Association (EOPE), Dr. Michalis Nikolaou, a Pathologist-Oncologist at “Agios Savvas” Hospital in Athens, the Director of the Piraeus Metaxa Cancer Hospital, Sarantos Efstathopoulos, the Professor of Neurology and Director of the Clinical Department at AHEPA University General Hospital in Thessaloniki, Nikolaos Grigoriadis, the Associate Professor of Oncology at Democritus University of Thrace and Director of the University Oncology Clinic at Alexandroupolis General Hospital, Dimitris Matthaios, the Director of the Clinic and Specialist Pathologist-Oncologist at “Theageneio” Cancer Hospital in Thessaloniki, Anastasios Boutis, the Head of Home Nursing, Anastasia Tsichlakiou, and three patients of the “OIKOTHEN” program who shared their experiences.
Also present at the event were: the General Secretary for Health Services, Lilian Vildiridi, the General Secretary for Public Health, Fofi Kalyva, the former Deputy Minister for Social Cohesion and Family and Member of Parliament for Ioannina, Maria Kefala, the Director of the 2nd Health Region of Piraeus and the Aegean, Christos Roilos, the Director of the 3rd Health Region of Macedonia, Dimitris Tsalikakis, the Director of the 7th Health Region of Crete, Nektarios Papavasiliou, hospital directors, and a large audience.
