WAY was fully responsible for the design, organization, and communication of the Symposium “Classics in Greek Education“ which took place on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Academy of Athens, on the 10th anniversary of the World Greek Language Day. The event was organized by the Research Centre for Greek and Latin Literature and the Research Centre for Modern Greek Dialects and Idioms of the Academy of Athens.

Opening remarks were delivered by His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Ieronymos II, and the Minister of Education, Mr. Kyriakos Pierrakakis. The event was also honored by the presence of the Minister of Health, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis.

The conference aimed to highlight the importance of the Greek language as a fundamental cultural asset and to promote Classical Studies in Greek education. During the event, esteemed academics and experts from Greece and abroad presented topics related to the significance of classical education and ancient languages in contemporary education.
